February, the month of

Love!

This month we will ask others to be our valentine and we look forward to the cards telling us how much we mean to those around us. I wonder if there are more roses sold this month of the year than any other month.

It is nice to be reminded that we are loved, we need that reminder. Not just emotionally but physically and mentally. To know we are loved helps to build our self-esteem and promotes good physical health. In some ways love is so over rated and in other ways it isn't stressed enough.

We do forget to tell those we care so much about that we appreciate them and that they are deeply loved. Wouldn't it be good if we remembered to say it everyday before we go our separate ways. We may not get to say it later.

Maybe that's why God stressed his love for his people so very much. And so many times. He wanted them to know that they weren't orphans but his children. He spoke of wanting to gather them together as a hen gathers her chicks as she brings them under her wings for safety. We can see his tenderness when we look at nature and see how tenderly mothers of most species care for their young, grooming and caressing them.

I know that I've said it before and I will probably say it many times again. You have been bought with an awesome price. Someone who loves you more than you can comprehend gave his life that you can live a life of

Peace, Joy and Freedom

as you would have never been able to know with out him. He made the only way for you to come into the household of God as God's child. And, not just come into the family but to come in boldly.

Boldly!

Run in and jump up in your Heavenly Father's lap and say I'm here Dad! And I promise you that He will snuggle and love you till your tired, hurting, aching heart is content

The same Mighty God that maintains order in the universe, capable of guiding and directing the hearts and minds of leaders and followers, adults and children wants to snuggle with you!

That thought always amazes me. I've walked with Him a long time a I know he loves me and we've shared those intimate moments time and time again, yet I'm always amazed that He wants to spend time with Me!

Rebbit with flowerI know me and I don't always want to spend time with me, but God does. And if He's willing and desires to spend time with me, He wants to be with you too.

Doesn't matter what mud life has drug you through - He just wants to pick you up and love you. Give in. Let Go. Just say, I'm here Dad, I've come home. I've messed up, but you already know that, I don't want to mess up any more. I don't know how to change so please pick me up and turn me around headed in your direction.

He says: "I've got you!...Be my valentine!"
